MONDAY MOTIVATIONAL MOMENT
By Dave Kelly
“That’s it? That’s this week’s tip?”
Yes, and if you get this one right, the rest of your life will be fulfilling and satisfying. Ninety percent of the input to your brain on a daily basis is negative. Only 10% is positive. Much of the negative stuff is put into our heads by ourselves. We look in the mirror in the morning and criticize every blemish and imperfection that we see. No wonder we go off into our day in a bad mood.
If you feed your brain positives on a regular basis, you will be amazed at how it responds. Your brain will be so thrilled to have positive input that it might get your adrenaline flowing. How often do you think about your accomplishments, victories, and just really great days?
Focus on the great moments of your life, how you felt at that time. Remind yourself that if you could do it then, you can do it now. Dr. Norman Vincent Peale wrote about “The Power of Positive Thinking”, Napolean Hill gave us “Think and Grow Rich”, and now we have “Life’s Golden Ticket” from Brendon Burchard that shows us the value of remembering the good moments in our life rather than dwelling on the bad ones.
Start your own book! Write down your accomplishments as they happen. Keep a journal of your successes so that when negativity tries to creep in, you can combat it with your victories.
If you do not believe in yourself, who else is going to? Be your own biggest fan!
