Welcome to OutOfYourRut.com! So what’s up with the economy, and how long will it last? I have no idea either–but let’s navigate it together. We’re looking for jobs and business opportunities in places you don’t normally don’t think to look. We’re also looking for expense reduction strategies, savings programs and interesting networking ideas. I’ll give you what I have and what ever YOU’RE working on, I’d like to hear about it, if it’s working or even if it isn’t. Email me, write articles (I’ll publish them), promote your business or suggest networking ideas. I’m open to it!
As for me, I do contract assignments in finance and accounting, so I’m always on the look out for new work, and for new business opportunities. I’m no “expert”, but I’m in the hunt like so many others. Let’s share our experiences, and maybe even do some networking.

At OutOfYourRut.com we’re always interested in your feedback, as well as any new ideas or concepts you’d like to suggest. Our intent is to keep the site as an open forum and we will welcome your input, constructive criticism or any ideas you have in regard to partnership arrangements. Please send your thoughts to Kevin.
Our purpose is connecting web visitors seeking money saving and budgeting ideas, business strategies and concepts, new jobs, careers, or businesses, with employers, businesses and business opportunities in the evolving economy. The objective focuses on positions or opportunities with new and unusual business ventures, to highlight jobs and businesses which are up and coming, and to showcase and encourage participation down non-traditional avenues. Don’t think that we won’t be interested in your story because you are an employee, or your business is small, or you aren’t earning a six figure income. We’re most interested in novel careers and businesses, those which thrive or offer stability due to current economic or cultural conditions, and especially those with interesting beginnings. We’re also very interested in programs related to budgeting and money saving plans, or any reasonable systems which will facilitate career or business transitions or improving standards and quality of life.
Ask yourself this question: Is the career or business you are currently in one which a person with few credentials, little money, but certain talents and abilities and a lot of desire, could enter and succeed in? If the answer is YES, we need to talk!
Because of our target audience, we’re less focused on careers which are “credentials intensive”— a person making a mid-career change is unlikely to have the time, money or inclination to enter a degree program in engineering or law, as examples. For the same reason, we prefer to avoid businesses which require heavy start-up costs; tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands before the doors are even open for business. So if you entered your current career without a related college degree or heavy experience, or started a business without heavy prior experience and a budget of no more than a few thousand dollars, we’d like to hear your story!
Our target audience includes, generally, mid-career individuals, from all career and business backgrounds, and more specifically,
- Individuals employed in declining industries
- Those who feel burned-out and are looking for a career change
- Those who perceive themselves to be “stuck” in their current career
- Individuals looking to downshift careers into one which, while offering less income, may provide greater personal satisfaction and/or life’s (non-business) opportunities
- Retirees looking for a new opportunity, supplemental income, or low stress situation
- Anyone seeking a change for whatever reason.
We’re also interested in related issues such as plans to reduce living expenses, money management, debt, investments, low cost vacation opportunities, places to retire, etc.
Please email Kevin and tell us about your business or career and how it might relate to our website.
